Our last artist album of 2015 was presented by Blue Symmetry, a collaborative downtempo project by electronic music veterans Blugazer (instrumentation) and Catherine (vocals). We have handpicked two of our favorite cuts from their "Color The Afterglow" release to receive uptempo interpretations. Specifically, on remix detail, longtime label residents eleven.five and Alexander Volosnikov have contributed thrilling new remixes.
American sensation eleven.five delivers one of his finest club-friendly compositions to date. In the early going, a suspenseful build is pared down to just a thunderous groove and Catherine's haunting vocals. At the quarter turn, a hypnotic -- dare we say, vertiginous -- lead theme begins to emerge, which offers a furious, if not exhilarating, energy to the mix. Just as the song feels ready to explode, it is stripped down to an unexpected (and truly gorgeous) piano theme, a wonderful breakdown moment. The arrangement once again crescendoes and finally erupts to rapturous effect.
Alexander Volosnikov, back with our label for the first time since last year's triumphant remix of Sound Quelle's "Piece Of Cake", offers an adrenalin-fueled and uplifting take on Blue Symmetry's "See You On The Other Side". Volosnikov's soaring, awe-inspiring arrangement embraces the listener from start to finish. There are myriad melodic layers, adapted from the original themes, which unite blissfully with faint echoes of Catherine's ethereal vocal.
